The National Experience Sampling Project is a research project created to explore the feasibility and acceptability of a nationwide, opt-in, population-scale program for gathering information for health research using common mobile phones. The NESP project will take advantage of context-aware experience sampling. This is where mobile phones might automatically determine appropriate times to ask context-sensitive questions. This work is a subset of a project funded by the NIH's Exposure Biology Program being conducted by researchers from MIT House_n and Stanford Medical School's Prevention Research Center.
