Quantified-Self Show-N-Tell

September 5, 2008
Next Wednesday, September 10, dedicated quantified selfers in the Bay Area will meet at my studio for the second Bay Area show and tell. For an explanation of “the quantified self” check my blog The Quantified Self.
In brief, the big idea is to use any measurement to bring about self-understanding and self-betterment. So we try out, modify, invent, collect, and recommend tools for self quantification. These include genetic sequencing, non-invasive body monitoring probes, automatic data gathering techniques, real-time medical diagnostics, and so on.
If you think you are part of this micro-niche movement, you are. We’ll be gathering at my studio in Pacifica to demo any tools we are using, to swap advice and tips, and to hear what others are doing. Interested folks should sign up via this Meetup link.
At the first QS show-n-tell, a member shows off a cheap location tracking device he cobbled together.
